Just in case you recently woke up from a coma: the Carter-Knowles twins have arrived. Now, lo and behold, Tina Knowles, the woman who blessed us with the mystical and magical gift that is Beyoncé, has shed some light on the meaning behind the name of her new granddaughter, Rumi. As was widely rumored, it turns out that the child is named after the 13th century poet Rumi, further proving that Queen Bey knows her shit when it comes to poetry; girl would’ve slayed AP English.
Anyway, Ms. Tina revealed the info via an Instagram post this weekend, in which she quoted some Rumi verse, and shared her thoughts, calling the words “not only beautiful but logical”
She even points to some of the themes found in Lemonade, saying that “Sometimes we are the reason we can’t find love!! We have to work on ourselves first to be whole.” Only then will you attain hot-sauce-in-your-bag levels of swag.
Hopefully Ms. Tina will soon clarify if Sir Carter’s full name is meant to be Sir Carter Carter, because that’s still tripping us up.
