Trump publicly endorsed General Keith Kellogg  as National Security Adviser today, but also said that three others were in the running. MSNBC and Fox News have both reported that the other three front-runners are Keith Alexander, David Petraeus and Jim Jones.

Trump’s first choice for the NSA role, Ret. Navy Vice Admiral Robert Harward, turned down the offer yesterday, stating that he wanted to “address financial and family issues” during his retirement from the Navy, instead.

However, inside sources have indicated that fight for control over the position may have led to Harward rejecting the offer.

After the resignation of Michael Flynn, the White House is in a hurry to find a replacement, but like most political positions, scrutiny will be heavy for whomever the POTUS chooses.
