I want to go on a date with @BenAxelrod

Have you ever wondered what role technology has or will have on the industry of marriage proposals? It’s hard to imagine their being any major changes. But one guy used social media to propose to his girlfriend because… that’s how they started dating.
After Twitter user Torey Danae tweeted that she wanted to go on a date with sportswriter Ben Axelrod, he graciously accepted, after tweeting back and forth publicly. It’s cute and cringe-y at the same time, if you can believe that.
After ‘bending the knee’ in proposal to her in what seems like an elementary school hallway, he shared the proposal on his Twitter, making the entire thing come full circle.
I bent the knee. She said yes! pic.twitter.com/nVwPHtpxOx
