If you tried to be trendy and get iPhone cases from Victoria’s Secret or Tory Burch, me gots some new for ya.
MixBin Electronics, the company behind the iPhone cases for Victoria’s Secret and Tory Burch, recalled all its iPhone 6, 6s and 7 liquid glitter cases Tuesday. Why? Because the cases are giving people chemical burns after the liquid and glitter started leaking.
MixBin announced 24 reports of skin irritation or chemical burns from around the world, 19 from the U.S.
The announcement said,
“One consumer reported permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another consumer reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands.”
The recall is now worldwide with an estimated 275,000 cases in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The cases, made in China for New Jersey-based MixBin, sold for $15 to $65 from October 2015 through June. MixBin asked customers stop using the cases immediately and contact the company for a refund at 855-215-4935, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Friday.
