Damn, that’s cold.
So Taylor Swift’s new album, Reputation dropped this past Friday, and obviously her songs, which are mega popular, were going to make the charts. However, Kanye West fans wanted a say in the matter and tried to keep her from charting.
How did they do that? They streamed Kanye’s song “Hey Mama” 700,000 times. Why that song? Because Reputation was released on the 10-year anniversary of West’s mother, Donda’s, death.
Unfortunately, Kanye fans were unsuccessful. Spotify has “multiple fraud-detection measures in place” that stop this kind of thing from gaining traction.
The song is off of West’s sophomore album, Late Registration.
